So, here's my version of a Stryder unicorn (breed created by =YOB ). No references used. I tried to challenge myself with a slightly different pose from my usual confo shot. Her back legs nearly killed me! YOB, let me know if there are things in her story that doesn't add up to a Stryder in general.
Meet Nil-Ee, a sooty grulla Stryder mare. Her hair is very thin and brittle, and quite easily detaches if caught in something. Her mane used to be long and flowy, but now, because of many battles, her beard is actually longer than her mane. Nil-Ee once was a gentle and kind unicorn, before the Virus took her over. When her hooves split in the process, it also ripped her legs. The worst leg is her back left, giving her a permanent limp. Sometimes her wounds reopen, causing immense pain. This often makes her go into a killing frenzy (no matter if she's currently being controlled or not), and is the time when she's especially deadly.
There's an old story about the rather unusual marking under her right eye:
"Some say, the moment before the Virus got its final grasp on her soul, she closed her eyes in acceptance of her fate. Nil-Ee closed her gentle eyes and wept, one first and final tear. When she opened her eyes again, they burned with fire-red evil, and that one tear of despair had been forever frozen, etched into her skin."
No one knows if it's a true story or not. She could have had the marking before the Virus, or it could be an old battle scar.
Nil-Ee is coldhearted and cruel, but there are rare occations, when she stops in mid-action, her eyes going blank. She seems to reminisce. Others guess she could be having flashbacks of her past, before the Virus. This could be the case, but not even Nil-Ee knows for sure. These moments are when she's most vulnerable in battle.
Tackar. Det är inte min mest genomarbetade bild, men jag är rätt stolt över att hon ser ok ut utan att ha använt några referenser (förutom =YOBs rasbeskrivning då ).

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. I love the idea of the split hooves and the tear marking. Oh, and the horse on her chest is a nice touch
