Ronaz by SheWolff Ronaz by SheWolff
----------------

Name: Ronaz
Breed: Andalusian
Age: 7 years old
Color: Buckskin
(Color genetics: Ee/AA/-Cr)
Markings: White sock on right hind leg, and a small star.
Rules for breeding: I do not mind crossbreeding him, but I'd like to keep his offspring's colors natural. I have a big personal interest in equine coat colors, so I'd prefer him being bred to mares with colors you can see in real life.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Not to be used in any way, without written permission.

I figured I'd try out *Losmios' tutorial, and here's the result. I really, really *love* this way of coloring, and I think I'll stick with Los' style for a while. Thank you for an awsome tutorial, Mia!

I also read *moonfeather's journal, about the HorseArt RPG, and will most likely join up once I've decided on a stable name, and Ronaz will be my foundation stud. :D

I wanted to draw a random horse, just to try out the tutorial, but he came out so well I had to give him a name. I decided on a semi-realistic style for this guy. The background is very simple, but I never ment to put that much effort into it either.

<EDIT>
Ref pic for those who think his anatomy's a bit off: [link]
It may be the angle that causes issues (like ~yoruuko mentioned). I guess I'll have to find a better ref and study more next time. :D

The link to your reference isn't working for me. Is he from a real photo or a model?

I think the main reason why people think it looks off, anatomy-wise, is that the neck and face seem to be shaded as if they were looked at directly from the side, instead of at an angle.

But you did better than I could ever. xD Very good highlights, and you really did this horse justice!

This guy looks very similar to the "El Cid" artist resin (model horse). Was he drawn after seeing that one? He's gorgeous. (Both!)

Nope, no El Cid (even though it's a gorgeous model horse). I reffed the pose from this pic: [link]
